About the Project
The Always Be initiative is a comprehensive renovation program for all academic, office and common spaces within the main building that was constructed in 1959-1960. Much work has been done over the last five years in preparation for this initiative, including:
- Comprehensive Master Facilities Plan with SHP (Local architectural firm specializing in education and complex renovation)
- Philanthropic study
- Internal and external studies of key constituents
- Approval by the La Salle Board of Limited Jurisdiction
- Approval by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati
Phases 1 & 2 of the renovation includes:
- Fire suppression
- Abatement of older floors and ceilings
- Installing new windows
- Upgrading security technology
- Conditioned air in all academic and office spaces
- Upgrading and relocating utilities including water, gas and electric
- Refinishing all academic, office and common spaces
(floors 1, 2 and 3) - Relocating art room out of the basement to provide for natural light
- Flipping the front of the school, facing North Bend Road, to the back of the school
- Shifting administrative offices to the first floor providing for efficiencies with leadership teams and added security for students
Total Cost: $8,500,000
Not included in this renovation is a new fine arts center and gymnasium. These two projects are a part of Phases 3 and 4 of the master facilites plan.
